Host: Josh Brahm
Josh Brahm is the Director of Education and Public Relations at Right to Life of Central California - Fresno/Madera. He was previously the Director of Education and Public Relations at Georgia Right to Life, and he's also the founder of Georgia Teens for Life and Mission: Life, a network of pro-life teen organizations. He's been a guest on TV and radio and is a frequent presenter in many of the biggest churches in the area. He's publicly debated leaders from Georgians for Choice, the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL), Planned Parenthood, and one of the leading abortion facilities in Atlanta.

Josh is also a professional musician who has worked with some of the top Christian artists in Georgia, and he married Hannah, his first love, in February 2006. Their baby boy Noah David is to be born in late-October.

Co-Host: Carrie Guy

Carrie Guy is the youth pastor at First Christian Church. She co-founded and was the former director of The IRMA Network, a post-abortion outreach of Tulare-Kings Right to Life. Carrie is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a degree in Speech Communications. She moved to Visalia, California in 2003 following her work with Doulos Ministries, an outreach to troubled teens in Colorado.

Through The IRMA Network, Carrie had many opportunities to share with men and women of all ages the importance of purity, the devastation of abortion, and the hope she has found. Carrie enjoys public speaking and writing and has appeared on radio and television. Carrie has been married to Kevin since October 2005 and has 2 great step daughters. Her passion for post-abortive men and women transpired through her own history with abortion and the changing, healing power of Jesus in her life.

Co-Host: Liz Seaward
Elizabeth Seaward is a paralegal student at the College of the Sequoias and has been politically active since her early teens, especially in the pro-life arena. She enjoys working with CA Life, her local pro-life youth group, to bring the message of life to the youth in her community through presentations and educational displays in local forums. Liz has a passion for public speaking and debate, a passion that she hopes to continually use to rouse the youth (and adults) of our nation out of apathy and into knowledgeable discussion of important issues.

Music also plays an important role in Elizabeth's life, she keeps sane by playing the piano and singing in the college's concert and chamber choirs.

A Conversation with Josh Brahm: Why is Right to Life of Central California Podcasting Now?

Q: Josh, what exactly is a podcast?
A: A podcast is a collection of digital media files, (typically either audio or video) that are distributed over the internet, often using automatic feeds, for playback on portable media players and personal computers. To sum up, basically RLCC is now producing an online radio show, that won't be heard on radio stations, (at least not yet) but can be heard by anybody with a computer and internet access. One of the greatest things about podcasts is they are absolutely FREE! That's one reason young people like it so much. They don't have to buy it. They can listen to hundreds of podcasts along a wide range of topics for free.

Q: So, this podcast won't just reach a Central California audience?
A: No, this podcast will be able to be heard by anybody across the globe who's interested in what we're talking about. Roughly 10% of the world's population has internet access, so people could theoretically be hearing what RLCC has to say from not only the other side of the country, but in England, Russia, Australia, even Antarctica!

Q: So how can I listen to the show?
A: Click on the "Show Archives" button on the left. You can download the shows to your computer, or you can subscribe to them with various podcasting utilities, including iTunes.

Q: How often are you recording shows?
A: There will be a new show every week.

Q: How long are the shows?
A: Usually between 20-40 minutes. We debated the possibility of doing 10 or 15 minute shows, but when we recorded the first few shows, we realized that we had too much to say to fit in such a small time frame! I didn't want it to be longer than an hour either, because I didn't want people lose interest.

Q: So what type of audience are you trying to reach?
A: As we were brainstorming on how we wanted to do the show, I was always adamant that the production value needed to be high enough that it would reach a young audience. Thus, the theme music at the beginning and end of the show is kind of edgy, instrumental rock songs. I also knew from the beginning that I didn't just want to record the shows myself, but I wanted it to be a dialogue. I wanted it to be a three-person show, that will sometimes include a fourth person for a guest interview. I didn't want it to be three guys talking about what many think of as a "women's issue," so when I first moved to Fresno I started looking for two, "young, spunky and opinionated girls" to co-host the show. Liz Seaward and Carrie Guy were perfect choices. They thankfully agreed to do the show and were excited by the possibilities of reaching such a large audience of pro-lifers AND pro-abortion-choice people as well.

Q: Wait a minute, you think pro-choice people might listen to this show?
A: I definitely hope so. I think it's important to keep dialogue going between both sides of the abortion issue. Sidewalk counseling and passing pro-life legislation is all great, but there's more we can do. There are thousands upon thousands of pro-abortion-choice people that have become pro-life in the last 10 years. There are also hundreds of former abortion clinic workers that have quit the business because they suddenly realized what they were involved in, and some even speak for the pro-life side now. I personally have had really good conversations with high-level abortion-choice activists, and I've experienced firsthand the power of thoughtful dialogue. Just like I listen to their stuff to better understand where they are coming from, I would hope they would spread the word about this show, saying that while these people are pro-life, they don't hate pro-abortion-choice people, they don't spread pro-life urban legends or dishonest facts, and they actually make some sense. I would hope they would write in to the show, and interact with us, and who knows? Maybe their minds will be changed, and yet another abortion-choice activist will become the next great pro-life voice!
